Celebrating Black History Month: Reclaiming Narratives and Shaping the Future

This October, we proudly join millions in celebrating Black History Month—a dedicated time to honour and reflect on the rich, diverse culture and remarkable contributions of Black people throughout history. This year’s theme, "Reclaiming Narratives," is a powerful reminder of the importance of telling our own stories and correcting the historical narratives that have often overlooked or misrepresented Black achievements and experiences.

At CHIKA’S SOO GOOD, we are deeply connected to this cause. Every day, we strive to represent and uplift our community through the joy, quality, and craftsmanship of our products. As we reflect on our journey, I am filled with pride to see how far we’ve come. Our growth is not just a reflection of business success, but of a broader mission to champion diversity and create a legacy rooted in culture and authenticity. It is an honour to represent the community, and we are committed to pushing boundaries and inspiring future generations.

While Black History Month provides a special moment to shine a light on the contributions of Black people, we believe that appreciation and recognition should go beyond these 31 days. Our shared history and culture have shaped the world in countless ways, and we should continue to learn, discover, and celebrate year-round.

In celebration of Black History Month, we are proud to reflect on the incredible journey of our CEO, Mrs. Chika Russell. As a visionary leader and champion of new voices in business, she continues to inspire and pave the way for future generations.

Through her work at CHIKA'S Foods and beyond, Mrs. Russell embodies the spirit of "Reclaiming Narratives," empowering diverse perspectives and challenging traditional boundaries in business.
